SUPERVISION

Improving your client outcomes....

In choosing a supervisor its important to consider where your theoretical and developmental orientations lie,
your clinical strengths, the areas in which you wish to grow and ultimately, where you want to head, professionally.

I am an Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) Approved Supervisor,
with over 25 years experience in the field of psychology and 15 years supervision of Psychologists,
multi disciplinary therapist teams, Psychology and Social Work students.
I provide Provisional Psychologists (4+2 or 5+1), Psychologists, Mental Health Practitioners and contracted Agencies,
professional guidance and advice, in a supportive yet dynamic environment.

Choosing the right clinical supervisor plays an important role in your career, clinical progress and future success.

Supervision is a formal, professional working relationship, between a more experienced and less experienced clinician.
To learn the trade, review and reflect on clinical work, develop clinical skill sets and explore transference and counter-transference.

Ultimately with the aim of understanding how to operate ethically, improve client outcomes, protect their welfare and grow as a clinician
while being supported and choosing the right professional development.

My clinical background is broad and varied and includes work with the following…

My Supervision Framework

I am a person centred therapist at heart, with a bio-psychosocial orientation, drawing from existential, cognitive, eastern, developmental, behavioural, attachment and systemic theories.

Curiosity, renewal, non-judgment, humility, continual development and strengths-based values inform my practice model - I wish to start where the client is at, whilst understanding the broad array of their circumstances and experiences.

My focus in on assisting clinicians finely tune their assessment skills, zone in on the client’s needs, create clearer formulations and diagnostic awareness. In doing so, interventions fall easier to hand, sessions progress steadily and evaluation is simpler.

My supervisory practice is updated using research, supervision, peer consultation and master class training. I see Psychology as both a science and an art - you develop a “feel” for where the client is, where you are and utilise your experiences in the room, with an always challenging blend of focus, improvisation and mindfulness.

During sessions, you can develop your clinical competence, reflect on and refine your practice and discover and develop confidence in your own natural abilities.
